Happy Monday Ya’ll!
My week started dark and early this morning heading to a somewhat empty SLC airport. I am still babying my coffee that I bought at Millcreek Coffee Roasters over in the A gates. I am now currently sitting in a very busy IAH and it seems that it is officially airport construction season as we are all packed full in the B terminal here.
My next few weeks will be rather hectic with a work schedule that leaves me one day off in between each work trip. To make myself feel better about all that and to feel like I will be just a bit more ready for the beach with the bestie I went ahead and ordered myself a few at home spa items.
A few reasons for this,
1. I don’t have the money to be going to the spa.
2. I have very dry skin
3. I have eczema
4. Flying just about every day makes my skin extra dry.
5. In the spring and summer I am outside cycling, hiking.
6. Did I mention I live in the desert.
So after some studying through instagram, Pinterest and YouTube I went and ordered 3 products. I also got a lot of this idea through my research of Japan. It becomes really easy to go down the beauty products used by the Japanese women and also Korean women.

The three products that I bought are:
1. Exfoliant Mitt- This is used to get all the dead skin off.
2. A Body Scrub and Mask.
3. After Shower Body Oil.
Everything was bought off of amazon. I ended up getting a gift card from work and was able to use that towards these items.
I bought Seraphic Skincare Premium Exfoliating Mitt. Most Korean women use a type of mitt.
For the body scrub I bought the Naturium KP Body Scrub & Mask. This one is good for sensitive skin.
For the body oil I went with HAYEJIN Rice Bran Oil after shower.
To use all three together for a lovely spa at home treatment you’ll wet your body then turn off shower get the mitt and start scrubbing in circular pattern. You’ll see the dead skin build up and all the dirt as well. Once I have done all that all over. I then go and grab the body scrub and use the scrub all over. Once I have it all over my body I let it sit for a good few minutes. While that is sitting on my body I will usually go and add my hair mask through my hair, brushing it and getting it through, then up in a bun. By the time I am finished with my hair I am ready to rinse off from the scrub. After the rinse I go ahead and wash. Once I am all finished washing and before I hop out of the shower I go ahead and lather my body with the body oil. This one is find is important to do while your body is still wet so it will soak into the skin. I didn’t realize how much I was needing to do this but I can tell the difference still after a few days with just adding body oil after a shower. I just drip dry as much as possible standing in the shower before i grab my towel to wrap in. With the oil I try not to actually dry off. Wanting the oil to set into the skin.
I really wish I had a travel size bottle of this oil to take with me for work. I also really wish I would have been doing this years ago. For someone who uses lotions religiously the oil really adds an extra barrier and really helps a desperately thirsty skin.
This is all done once a week and maybe twice a week depending how much cycling I am doing over the summer. It’s not advised to do the exfoliating mitt more than once a week. You are really just wanting to get that layer of dead skin and dirt off the top of the skin so that your oil and lotions will penetrate into the skin and hydrate the skin.
Well, I don’t have glowy, dewy skin but I will say after using a couple times my skin is a lot softer
Happy Monday…. I am now off to Mexico.
I do apologize for the sans shot of me wrapped in a towel but I couldn’t stomach if a passenger came on board and said they followed and then knowing they have seen a picture of that, no matter how artistic it could be done. Also my bathroom needs to be cleaned properly.
With love,
Jessicaraye
