We are slowly inching our way into the 3rd quarter of the year. Yet, it feels as if the year is quickly moving past us as it does every year.
It’s been yet again another hot minute since I have blogged. it’s a good thing this isn’t my day job.
I do have some quick updates on where life is at right now and where I seem to be taking it.
Back in May my best friend had her 4th baby girl. (She is delightful). So over the spring I spent the majority of my time in North Carolina. Either doing a quick girls weekend trip. ( We went to Myrtle Beach) or helping her in the last trimester with getting the girls to softball and helping with homestead and things that needed done around the house before baby.

I have thankfully been able to do this by dropping the majority of my trips and then cloistering my work trips together so that I could then work for a full week or two and then drop the other trips in the month and then fly back out to NC.
At some point during all of this going back and forth my wheels got to turning as well as conversations between the BFF and I about how I could be getting more traveling in through out the year and or going somewhere each month.

By May and June I had been able to fully drop all work trips to where I could test this idea out by picking trips up out of base (SLC) and seeing what commuting from NC would be like. While also still picking up a couple trips out of SLC.
At the beginning of June some unsuspecting news came up via my roommate in Salt Lake City letting me know that I would need to move out of the basement apartment by August 1. Circumstances beyond either one of our controls.

June I left for a birthday weekend trip to Lisbon, Portugal ( originally the plan was Rome, Italy) and then we started discussing more fully what I should be doing.
Traveling: how to fully put this job into practice for myself.
So I went back to Salt Lake in July. Started packing up the apartment. Stacked up my work trips and spent the last week in July moving my belongings into a storage unit and taking everything else to the D.I. in Salt Lake. While also getting some bike rides in, going to a music show and spending some time with friends. And mostly trying to not stress out about whether this plan would fully work out or not.

So here we are now in August with me trying to put this all into practice. I having a feeling it’s going to be a month by month trial run. This month has already seen some hiccups along the way but they are now all forgotten while I am at home spending time with the nieces and planning the next getaway.
So we shall see how well this all works out and if I learn anything new when it comes to commuting and living even more in hotels than what I already do.
Well happy Friday and A Happy Weekend Ya’ll
With love,
Jess
